Survey finds cosmetic procedures most popular with 'average joe'

Pierce Mattie Public Relations took a close look at trends in cosmetic surgery and found some interesting tidbits.

For example, most folks who buy cosmetic surgery services are not the rich and famous. In fact, the majority has a household income less than $60,000 per year; fewer than one in five have a household income exceeding $90,000.

• lack of endorsement for mesotherapy
• a 36 percent increase in the use of fillers and minimally invasive procedures
• a 44 percent increase in procedures on ethnic patients
• election not to tax cosmetic procedures
• the return of silicone breast implants
• acquisition/consolidation of plastic surgery product manufacturers.
