Robe covers without gaps, maneuvers easily around bandages

Article-Robe covers without gaps, maneuvers easily around bandages

RxPJs is introducing a line of comfortable robes that cover the body nicely without gaping open during hospital stays. They are ideal for patients who will be undergoing plastic surgery, the company says.

After being hospitalized in 2004, the robe's inventor, Paula Milgrom, was determined that there had to be something better than flimsy hospital gowns with openings in the front and back. So she developed a "modest" robe — RxPJs. The robes, which can be worn over hospital gowns, have zippers in the shoulders, making it easy to maneuver around IV's, dressings or bandages. They are made of a lightweight, thermal fabric (50 percent cotton/50 percent polyester) and are available in cadet blue. Customized colors can be special ordered.

RxPJs' robes, which are made in the U.S., are machine washable and dryable. One size fits most; they are unisex. The robes retail for $72.
