Exton, Pa. — Isolagen Inc., based here, has announced positive preliminary results from two late-stage tests of Isolagen Therapy, its skin-and-tissue rejuvenation treatment, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The treatment involves autologous cell therapy, the harvesting and multiplying of a patient’s own fibroblasts into tens of millions of new cells that are then injected into the patient’s skin to repair damage.
The company is initially testing the therapy as a treatment for nasolabial folds.
Isolagen officials say its two clinical studies produced “highly statistically significant” results in terms of decreasing the appearance of wrinkles in the skin, reports the Journal, adding that the company is preparing complete test results but would not say when the data will be made public.
The company intends to file an application early next year seeking FDA approval for Isolagen Therapy.
