Implants augment intimacy, patients say

Article-Implants augment intimacy, patients say

Seattle — A significant percentage of women who have had breastlifts or breast implants say the procedure improved their sex lives, according to results of a recent survey.

The survey, conducted by consumer cosmetic/plastic-surgery information site Realself.com, resulted in the following feedback from respondents:

  • More frequent sexual encounters were reported by 61 percent of respondents, while 7 percent said they were having sex less frequently than before undergoing the procedure;
  • Overall sex life satisfaction improved after the procedure for 70 percent of respondents;
  • On a scale of one to 10, 28 percent of women who had breast enhancement say their sex life satisfaction improved by more than four points;
  • Nearly 80 percent of respondents said their breast enhancements were worth it.

RealSelf.com has a “worth it” rating, expressed as a percentage, for plastic surgery procedures that reflects combined opinions of RealSelf.com community members. An 80 percent rating, for example, means eight out of 10 patients would undergo a procedure again. The “worth it” rating for breast augmentation in 2011 was 84.5 percent; for breastlift, 82 percent.
