Gender and Botox

Article-Gender and Botox

Women may have another benefit when it comes to Botox. According to a study published in Dermatologic Therapy, men require more units of cosmetic botulinum toxin (read: a greater expense) to get comparable results. Researchers found inadequate injection doses in men result in unsatisfactory wrinkle reduction. This is due to men naturally having more muscle mass than women. However, the study notes that slender, smaller-framed men may get acceptable results from the same dosage as women.
