Baltimore — The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine has joined with the National Cosmetic Network (NCN), a medical-video production and distance-learning company, in an initiative to provide free, Internet-based live-patient specialty training for more than 400 surgical residents enrolled in accredited plastic-surgery training programs in the United States.
The program, designed to increase safety and effectiveness of cosmetic surgery, is a fully accredited Continuing Medical Education (CME) course developed by Johns Hopkins specialists in plastic and reconstructive surgery. NCN provides the delivery system for the distance-learning program, which features invited faculty from across the country.
Funded by Johns Hopkins and NCN, the program is being offered to virtually all plastic surgery residents in the United States. Upon course completion, physicians can take a test to receive CME credit. For more information on the Johns Hopkins/NCN surgery programs, visit www.nationalcosmeticnet.com.
