If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check out the latest challenge to all the good counsel you've been giving your patients about skin care and the dangers of sun exposure. The newest "in your face" ad campaign sports the tag line:

"Get a tan. Your body will thank you."
Launched by the Indoor Tanning Association, the campaign brandishes it's own provocatively named Web site www.sunlightscam.com and touts the tanning bed's virtues for Vitamin D synthesis.

Via YouTube, the AAD text-messages its counter punch that "Tanning beds R 4 losers."

FDA oversight anyone?

For impact though, don't miss talking-head-and-carcinoma-patient John Robert's pithy intro to the new ad campaign on CNN's Medical News.

What do you think? Is the AAD's counter statement sufficient or should the FDA speak up and protest — or even seek an injunction to stop — the pro-tanning bed ad campaign?
