Ontario, Canada — News source Business Wire reports that Star Hospitals.net, a North American healthcare service, has established the first call center operated entirely by medical professionals for patients seeking affordable medical procedures abroad.

Business Wire quotes Star hospitals.net Vice President Kumar Jagadeesan as saying, “Our team of medical professionals — not simply travel agents — gives patients valuable information and guides them through their entire medical tourism experience.”

According to the reports, most hospitals in the Star Hospitals.net network are accredited or are working toward accreditation by Joint Commission International (JCI), National Accreditation Board of Hospitals (NABH) and International Standards Organization (ISO).

The medical network claims to have healthcare facilities in India, Singapore and Thailand that offer a range of medical procedures at significantly lower cost than U.S.-based facilities. The medical services include cosmetic procedures such as liposuction, breast augmentation and rhinoplasty.

According to Business Wire, once client patients undergo diagnostic evaluation, Star Hospitals.net staff helps them finalize travel arrangements by coordinating passports and visas and finalizing hospital registration and accommodations. Staff members share appropriate medical records with hospital personnel and arrange for teleconferencing between patients and their doctors.
