Article-Economic woes aren’t deterring prospective cosmetic surgery patients

Rolling Meadows, Ill. — A flagging economy and skyrocketing gas prices apparently aren’t stopping Americans from seeking cosmetic procedures, reports news source Cleveland.com.

According to a survey of 562 members of the Rolling Meadows-based American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), steady use and even growth is indicated in specific cosmetic-related procedures such as fillers, laser-related and injectable-toxin procedures such as Botox.

Further, nearly 63 percent of respondents say they are maintaining a consistent volume of bookings for existing patients seeking cosmetic-related procedures, compared with six months ago, while 24 percent say they’ve had an increase in the number of such patients. In addition, about 32 percent of dermatologic surgeons say they’ve experienced as much as a 30 percent increase in new patients.
