Elizabeth Rabena, a licensed esthetician and certified Skin RevisionTM therapist at Moxie Skincare in San Diego, Calif., has been relying on the skin healing properties of Beta Gel, a hydrating beta-glucan serum from DMK Professional Skin Revision (Santa Fe Springs, Calif.), for 12 years.
“I apply Beta Gel as a soothing salve to quickly relieve irritation and inflammation. It can be used on cuts, burns, sutures, acne, psoriasis, rosacea and eczema – any area of the skin that needs healing, strengthening and revising back to a healthy state,” Ms. Rabena explained.
While there are many hydrating and healing serums from which to choose, Ms. Rabena said she is particularly drawn to Beta Gel for its potent antioxidant and free radical scavenging capabilities. “The key ingredients of Beta Gel stimulate the skin’s immune system via the Langerhans cells, promoting rapid wound healing,” she explained.
According to DMK, this antioxidant topical can be used on the body or face for a range of skin injuries and conditions; pre- and post-surgery; and safely applied to sutures or wounds to achieve optimal outcomes; however, a doctor’s clearance is required when using it on sutures and during post-operative care.
Among the key ingredients in Beta Gel is beta-glucan, which is a humectant polysaccharide with immune-boosting support, moisturizing and wound healing properties. Other key ingredients include magnesium ascorbyl phosphate (MAP), a lipophilic, stable form of vitamin C; palmitoyl tripeptide-1, a messenger peptide that helps stimulate collagen and improves skin elasticity, tone and more; palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, which among other benefits, helps to suppress inflammation; and curcuma longa root extract, or curcumin, a botanical known to offer antioxidant,anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal benefits.
“The quick-healing results I have seen in my practice and in case studies shared by colleagues worldwide are remarkable. Clients and patients of all ages with wounds and skin disorders have benefited from the healing powers of Beta Gel,” Ms. Rabena reported. “I have seen a tremendous amount of positive outcomes from using Beta Gel with wounds and skin disorders – cuts, burns, post-operative incisions, scars, acne, psoriasis, rosacea and eczema,” she continued. “I have many clients with similar stories: ‘I have tried everything from holistic remedies to prescribed medications, and none of them have provided the relief and healing that Beta Gel has given me.’”
Depending on the severity of the skin condition, Ms. Rabena recommends that patients apply Beta Gel directly to the skin two to six times daily. She added that Beta Gel is not only for skin experiencing irritation from skin conditions or injury but, it also can be used by patients who want to strengthen aging skin.
According to the company’s product description, Beta Gel is safe enough to use on children six months and older. Additionally, it is ideal for use in aesthetic practices for individuals undergoing skin revision treatments, including laser treatments or peels. “Beta Gel works at a cellular level. It not only relieves the symptoms on the skin’s surface, but more importantly, it heals from the inside, addressing the core of the condition,” Ms. Rabena asserted.
