Arlington Heights, Ill. — The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) has launched the Plastic Surgery Education Network (PSEN) at psenetwork.org to provide continuing education opportunities, Medical News Today reports.
The ASPS says the site is designed as a one-stop shop for surgeons in group and private practice to obtain the latest news and view new techniques via personal computer or mobile device.
The society partnered with several subspecialty organizations to create the site: the American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS), the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons (ASMS), the American Society for Peripheral Nerve (ASPN), the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM), the American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons (ACAPS) and the Plastic Surgery Research Council (PSRC).
Access to PSEN is free to members of these organizations. PSEN provides CME courses, procedural videos, case reports and personalized self-assessment tools. The site is designed so that courses can be accessed at any time and completed at any pace.
Medical News Today quotes ASPS President Phillip Haeck, M.D., as saying, “We are really excited about the debut of this new online resource. It will provide plastic surgeons with learning tools for every style and phase of practice, from residency to retirement. Its resources will only continue to grow and deepen in the months and years to come.”
