Featuring a spectrum of laser wavelengths (532 nm, 755 nm and 1064 nm Nd:YAG with optional 1320 nm and 2940 nm), plus optional IPL capability in a single, reliable, high performance system, Light EVO can do it all. Laser hair removal, benign pigmented and vascular lesions, wrinkles and resurfacing, acne, scar revision and more, are all available at the fingertips of professionals looking to provide the best results safely.
“This will address all the bread-and-butter therapies in your aesthetic practice without compromising on quality,” said dermatologist Jordana Herschthal, MD of The Herschthal Practice Aesthetic Dermatology (Boca Raton, Fla.). “It is a slam dunk for virtually anyone whether you are a veteran streamlining multiple practice locations, or trying to establish yourself and looking to maximize your capabilities with minimal overhead, because the quality is there without the need for consumables.”
While the wide range of capabilities available in Light EVO can be the nexus around which proprietary treatment combinations are built, the ELLUMINATE protocol is a winner, according to Dr. Herschthal. “Branded treatments are becoming popular because effective ones are a win-win. It gives you something to offer that patients love, which they will easily remember and eagerly spread the word about,” she explained. “You can use all four wavelengths in one day, which is exciting as well as convenient.”
Even using four lasers, ELLUMINATE is fairly straightforward. “After a single pass with the Nd:YAG laser to stimulate and remodel collagen, a second pass with the 755 nm can address pigment. Vascularity is attacked using the 532 nm laser, with a final pass using the Er:YAG laser for tone and texture, all performed in one day,” Dr. Herschthal shared. “Downtime is minimal. The patient will be pinkish-red for about two days, which is completely acceptable to them. All you need for maintenance are occasional Nd:YAG sessions. This is easy for everyone, and without consumables you can manage the cost to suit your market.”
“Virtually any patient can benefit from ELLUMINATE,” she continued. “Brown spots, some redness, telangiectasias, wrinkles and fine lines, individually or in the usual com- bination of sun damage, all can be treated in a single session. And you can modify the protocol for darker skin types. You probably wouldn’t use the erbium on Type V skin, for example, but you could focus on the Nd:YAG for collagen remodeling.”
The many treatment parameters can be easily adjusted to suit the indication and unique individual. Comfort is also easy to manage using either contact cooling – with a removable sapphire window – or fittings for Zimmer air cooling on all handpieces.
“Management of cooling options allows comfort to be front and center, but you can be more aggressive by removing the sapphire window if that is warranted,” Dr. Herschthal stated.
