You can go deeper or treat more superficially to specifically address each patient’s skin concern from wrinkles and fine lines to acne scars, sun damage, pore size reduction and discoloration in one to two treatments.”
Sciton’s HALO uses 2940 nm Er:YAG to deliver pure ablation between 20 to 100 microns into the epidermis and a 1470 nm diode to deliver coagulation tunable between 250 and 700 microns into the dermis. As a result, aesthetic practitioners like Dr. Emer enjoy the flexibility that HALO offers. Both the ablative and non-ablative laser wavelengths can be delivered in the same pass, and many permutations of depths and density coverage are possible. The clinical effect is ablative-like results with close to non-ablative-like healing.

Dr. Emer uses HALO mainly for resurfacing of areas on the face, neck, back, chest and hands. He said it is extremely effective in treating acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, reducing the appearance of enlarged pores, general discoloration from sun damage, and for overall facial revitalization.
In most cases, patients have three or four days of downtime post-treatment and a pre- and post-treatment skincare regimen can help skin healing and preserve the longevity of results.
